Certification, Licensing, and Special Requirements
Certification or Licensing
Some employers require community nutrition educators to complete food handling safety certification programs. Some cities or states have their own certification classes or programs that community nutrition educators must complete before being eligible for employment.
Other Requirements
For some positions, educators must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as part of their work duties. Many employers require job applicants to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a security background check. Educators are often required to have access to reliable transportation.
