Drone Engineers

The unmanned aircraft systems industry continues to grow and drone engineers will be needed by various industries to meet increasing demand for drones. More consumers are buying and using small drones, and the commercial use of unmanned aircraft systems is also expected to continue growing. Of the three main segments for drones (military, civilian, and commercial), the commercial segment is expected to be the fastest growing in the next few years, according to the article "Drones Reporting to Work" published by Goldman Sachs. An estimated total of $100 billion will be spent on military and civilian drones by 2020. Of the commercial segment, the fastest growing sectors will be construction (with more than $11 billion spent on drones by 2020), agriculture (nearly $6 billion), insurance ($1.4 billion), and inspection of infrastructure (more than $1 billion).
