Unions and Associations

Physicists do nor typically belong to unions. The American Institute of Physics represents the wide spectrum of work that physicists perform, advocating for their interests, offering networking, a job database, and functioning as a leader in the field through its publications. The American Physical Society is another great resource for physicians and publishes international journals, sponsors meetings and events, assists with job searches, and provides advocacy. The American Association of Physicists in Medicine provides membership and resources for students and publishes the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Medical Physics Journal, and other resources. The Canadian Association of Physicists is a nonprofit organization that represents more than 1,700 physicists working in academia, government, and industry.
