Social Media Influencers

Work Environment

Social media influencers typically work from home offices and wherever (e.g., national parks, restaurants, art galleries, etc.) they travel to gain material for their work. They can set their own hours, but they must be available when followers are most apt to engage with their posts

While it’s fun to publish your writing or other creations, there is also intense pressure to keep publishing new content regardless of whether you’re tired, sick, busy with family responsibilities or a full-time job, or face other challenges. Followers are less apt to follow someone who does not post regularly and engage with them, and companies are less likely to pay influencers who are not busy influencing people to buy their products and services.

If you’re a full-time influencer, you need to be financially prepared for times when sponsorships dry up. Not having enough work to pay the bills can be stressful, and some people leave the field due to the uncertainty of getting steady work.

Despite the occasional challenges, many influencers love their careers because they get paid to discuss their interests and passions.
