The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates that in 2023 there were more than 1.2 million security guards working in the United States, which includes armored truck drivers. The BLS also reports that the overall employment of security guards is projected to show little or no change through 2032. Jobs openings will become available as individuals retire and leave the occupation each year. Companies will continue to need armored truck drivers to protect people and property from crime and vandalism. Armored truck drivers with appropriate training, certification, licensure, and physical fitness will have an advantage in the job market.
