Unions and Associations

Some engineers, scientists, and technicians may be represented by the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers and other unions. The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is a membership organization of more than 7,000 scientists in academia, industry, and government. It provides membership (including chapters for college students), publishes the AAPS Newsmagazine, and provides continuing education classes, salary surveys, and career information. In addition, drug developers can obtain useful resources and professional support from the following organizations: American Chemical Society, American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, Biotechnology Innovation Organization, Biotechnology Institute, and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.
