Methane/Landfill Gas Collection System Operators

Work Environment

Methane/landfill gas collection system operators work outdoors at landfill sites. They work in all types of weather conditions and the environment can be dirty and noisy. They are exposed to hazardous materials and conditions and wear protective clothing and gear in accordance with safety regulations. Operators also work indoors in offices, using computers to analyze data and create reports. They usually work 40 hours per week, but may be required to work additional hours when emergencies arise.
