Brand Ambassadors

Education and Training Requirements

High School

Since brand ambassadors spend much of their time talking about and promoting their employer’s products or services, it’s a good idea to take as many English, speech, writing, foreign language, marketing, and sales classes as possible in high school. Other recommended classes include psychology, computer science, mathematics, and social studies.

Postsecondary Education

You do not need a college degree to work as a brand ambassador, but many ambassadors have degrees in marketing or social media or a degree in their specialty (business, fashion, culinary arts, etc.).

Certification

Certificates in marketing, social media marketing, public speaking, and related fields are available from colleges and universities, online learning platforms, and other providers. Certificate programs last six months to a year and provide students with the opportunity to explore an educational field without enrolling in a baccalaureate program, as well as obtain specialized knowledge that will come in handy on the job.

Other Education or Training

Classes in marketing, sales, advertising, communication, social media writing, and other topics are offered by the American Marketing Association, eMarketing Association, Internet Marketing Association, and other organizations.
