The earnings of salaried restaurant and food service managers vary a great deal, depending on the type and size of the establishment. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, mean annual earnings of food service managers were $69,580 in May 2023. The mean annual salary for workers in all careers was $65,470. The lowest paid 10 percent of restaurant and food service managers earned less than $42,990, and the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $101,240. Those employed in special food services earned about $76,890, while those who worked in traveler accommodation establishments earned $86,440 per year. In addition to a base salary, most managers receive bonuses based on profits, which can range from $2,000 to $7,500 a year.
