The earnings of salaried restaurant and food service managers vary a great deal, depending on the type and size of the establishment. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, median annual earnings of food service managers were $55,320 in May 2019. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $33,210, and the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $93,040. Those in charge of full-service restaurants earned about $56,880, while those who worked in traveler accommodation establishments earned $70,970 per year in 2019. In addition to a base salary, most managers receive bonuses based on profits, which can range from $2,000 to $7,500 a year.

Many restaurants furnish meals to employees during their work hours. Annual bonuses, group plan pensions, hospitalization, medical, and other benefits may be offered to restaurant managers.
