If this is not feasible, you may be able to invite a union or industry representative to your school to speak with students about careers in the steel industry. Reading publications, such as Iron & Steel Technology (https://www.aist.org/Publications-Advertising/Iron-Steel-Technology), published by iron and steel associations is a good way to become more familiar with the industry and current trends.
Consider joining SkillsUSA (www.skillsusa.org), a national membership organization for middle school, high school, and college students who are interested in pursuing careers in technical, trade, and skilled service occupations.
