Grant Coordinators and Writers

Grant coordinators work primarily in comfortable office environments. Some nonprofit agencies have cramped or inadequate facilities, while others may be quite luxurious. The grant coordinator usually works during regular office hours unless a deadline must be met. When grant coordinators approach the deadlines for submitting grant proposals, overtime work, including nights or weekends, may be required. Meetings with foundation representatives may take place outside the office or before or after regular hours. Benefits packages and vacation time vary widely from agency to agency, but most nonprofit organizations are flexible places to work. Grant coordinators are often most satisfied with their jobs when they believe in the goals of their own agency and know they are helping the agency do its work.
