Green builders' salaries vary according to work experience and job title. In May 2023 the median income of all construction managers was $104,900, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The lowest paid 10 percent earned $64,480 or less, and the highest paid 10 percent earned $172,040 or more. Those who worked in nonresidential construction earned higher salaries, with a mean income of $107,660. Foundation, structure, and building exterior contractors averaged $106,560. Cost estimators earned salaries that ranged from $44,820 to $124,520 or more.

Green builders who are salaried employees of a company usually receive benefits such as vacation days, sick leave, health and life insurance, and a savings and pension program. Self-employed builders must provide their own benefits.
