Motion Graphics Artists

Work Environment

Motion graphics artists work remotely in home offices, in traditional offices at the location of their employer, or in a remote/company office hybrid format. Much of their work is done independently as they develop motion graphics, but they also meet with other artists, managers, and clients to discuss project parameters, budgets, and timelines.

MGAs may need to work overtime at night and on weekends when on a tight deadline. Additionally, this job can be stressful when one’s work receives negative feedback from clients, colleagues, or managers, or one’s manager has unrealistic expectations about their workload or other issues.

Despite the occasional challenges of this profession, the majority of motion graphics artists enjoy their careers. In fact, 68 percent of MGAs who were surveyed by PayScale.com in 2025 reported being “satisfied” with their occupational choice.
