Solar Engineers

The U.S. Department of Labor forecasts employment outlooks for engineers that range from fast to much faster than the average for all jobs through 2033. Materials engineers will have faster than average job growth, while chemical, electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineers will have much faster than average job growth in the coming years. Engineers working in solar energy may find it somewhat easier to obtain employment in the years to come, especially if more governments invest money into alternative-energy research and development. The coronavirus pandemic caused a decline in solar industry growth in 2020 and 2021. Post pandemic the industry has rebounded. According to a report by the Solar Energy Industries Association, "... by 2030, the equivalent of one in eight American homes will have solar...". The SEIA also reports that the U.S. has the third largest market in the world for photovoltaic installations, and is expected to continue growing rapidly in the future.
