Unions and Associations
Translators who are employed by government agencies may be members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and other unions. They can also join professional associations such as the American Translators Association, American Literary Translators Association, National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators, Dictionary Society of North America, and Editorial Freelancers Association. These organizations provide continuing education classes, networking events, and other resources.
