Video Game Art Directors

Work Environment

Video game art directors usually work in studios or office buildings. Their work areas are ordinarily comfortable, well lit, and ventilated. Most art directors work a standard 40-hour week. Many, however, work overtime during busy periods in order to meet deadlines.

Video game art directors work independently while reviewing video games in development, but much of their time is spent collaborating with and supervising a team of employees, often consisting of game designers, producers, writers, and executives.
