Localization Specialists

Experience, Skills, and Personality Traits

Aspiring localization specialists should ideally have one to three years of experience in general translation positions, although entry-level positions for those who have specialized localization training are available. Localization specialists should also have experience in product management and market research and, of course, knowledge of English and the required languages at the proficiency level.

Key personal traits for specialists include strong written and oral communication skills, active listening skills, analytical and project management skills, patience, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to continue to learn throughout their careers.
