In February 2020, Glassdoor.com reported the average annual salary for molders was $33,931. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, median hourly wages for foundry mold and coremakers were $17.04 in May 2018, or about $35,430 annually for full-time work. The lowest paid 10 percent earned $11.86 per hour orĀ $24,660 annually, while the highest paid 10 percent earned $24.90 per hour, or $51,780 annually. Some molders are paid on an incentive basis, and they generally have higher earnings than other production workers. Benefits for molders depend upon the foundry or manufacturing company's policies but generally include paid holidays and vacations as well as health care insurance packages.
