Logging workers who work for government agencies can join the American Federation of Government Employees, a union that represents government workers. All logging professionals can join the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen, and Helpers of America. Many workers become members of professional associations such as the American Loggers Council, Northeastern Loggers' Association, and the Society of American Foresters.The USDA Forest Service manages federal forests and grasslands. Other useful organizations include the American Forest and Paper Association, Forest Resources Association, Lake States Lumber Association, and the Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association.
