- electrical and electronics: $120,200
- mechanical: $114,030
- materials: $111,290
- industrial: $106,850
- health and safety: $96,480
Salaries for automotive engineers ranged from $59,000 to more than $116,000 in 2024, according to PayScale.com. They earned average salaries of $85,039.
Automotive engineers who work for a company usually receive benefits such as vacation days, sick leave, health and life insurance, and a savings and pension program. Self-employed engineers must provide their own benefits.
