Unions and Associations
Some scientists may be represented by the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers and other unions.
Many groundwater professionals join professional associations such as the American Geophysical Union, American Institute of Hydrology, American Water Works Association, Geological Society of America (which has a Hydrogeology Division), American Geophysical Union, and the National Ground Water Association. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Geological Survey are federal agencies that hire groundwater professionals.
