The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) reports that median annual earnings of mining and geological engineers were $100,640 in May 2023. Salaries ranged from less than $55,150 to more than $160,820. The top-paying industry for mining and geological engineers was oil and gas extraction, paying about $171,860 per year.
