Photographers

Photographers may be represented by The NewsGuild-Communication Workers of America. For professional photographers, the nonprofit Professional Photographers of America offers certification, continuing education, meetings, contests and equipment insurance to its members. American Photographic Artists offers student and professional membership categories and competitions. Many photographers might find it helpful to join an association based on their specialty, such as wedding or nature photography. Examples include the American Society of Media Photographers, National Press Photographers, North American Nature Photography Association, and the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers.
