Renewable Energy Site Assessors

Outlook

Demand for renewable energy has increased in the past few decades due to growing concerns about damage caused to the environment by the burning of fossil fuels, rising costs for fossil fuels, decreasing manufacturing costs and expanding capacity for renewable energy, and falling prices for energy storage devices. The Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) report, International Energy Outlook 2022, projects that the share of U.S. power generation from renewables will grow from 21 percent in 2021 to 44 percent in 2050. The report says that “this increase in renewable energy mainly consists of new wind and solar power. The contribution of hydropower remains largely unchanged through 2050, and other renewable sources of power generation, such as geothermal and biomass, collectively remain less than 3 percent of total generation.” Site assessors with considerable experience who stay up-to-date with the latest renewable technology will have the best job prospects.
