Renewable Energy Site Assessors

Work Environment

Renewable energy site assessors who work in the residential sector travel to the residences of customers to conduct on-site assessments. Those who are employed in the commercial sector travel to construction sites, farms, and other areas (some of which may be remote) to gather information. They may need to drive 50 miles or more to reach job sites. This career can be physically demanding because site assessors sometimes climb ladders and maneuver through crawlspaces and other tight spaces, carry heavy equipment and other gear, and conduct assessments in rugged, hilly areas—sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
