Reservation and transportation ticket agents and travel clerks earned median salaries of $41,460 in 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The lowest paid 10 percent of these workers made about $34,550 per year, while the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $75,050 annually. Fifty percent earned between $37,200 and $54,930. Most agents can earn overtime pay; many employers also pay extra for night work.

Benefits vary according to the place of work, experience, and union membership; however, most receive vacation and sick pay, health insurance, and retirement plans. Agents, especially those employed by the airlines, often receive free or reduced-fare transportation for themselves and their families.
