Space Habitat Designers

Space habitat designers may be represented by the American Federation of Government Employees, International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, the SPEEA, and other unions.

Useful organizations for architects include the American Institute of Architects, American Institute of Architecture Students, Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Many professional associations represent the professional interests of engineers. Examples include the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (which has an Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society), Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, SME (which represents manufacturing engineers), and the Society of Women Engineers. The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying provides licensure examinations for engineers. ABET accredits engineering education programs.

The Industrial Designers Association of America is the main professional association for industrial designers. It provides networking and professional development opportunities, career resources, and access to various publications.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics offers membership for high school and college students, scholarships and competitions for students, continuing education classes and webinars, and other resources. Other aerospace- and space-related organizations include the Aerospace Industries Association of America, Commercial Spaceflight Federation, International Astronautical Federation, and The Planetary Society.
