Wind Energy Engineers

Unions and Associations

Wind energy engineers join professional associations for education, certification, conferences and other types of networking events, advocacy, research, and job referrals. Groups that offer these and other benefits include the American Wind Energy Association, Interstate Renewable Energy Council, and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA). They also obtain resources and support from the American Society of Civil Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and other engineering-related associations. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy is a government agency that provides resources for those interested in wind energy.
