Employment Prospects

Employers

Edupreneurs are self-employed. Some continue to work as teachers, counselors, administrators, and in other positions for school districts or other employers as they develop their product and service.

Starting Out

Many edupreneurs start out as teachers, school administrators, counselors, or in other positions in education. After obtaining experience, observing how the educational system works (and does not work), and identifying products or services that may improve the field of education, they decide to start a business. They test their ideas with friends, colleagues, and focus groups, and if the idea is viable, seek funding, prepare business and marketing plans, and take other steps to launch their businesses.
