Export-Import Specialists

Outlook

Opportunities in the export-import field should grow at an average rate during the next decade. Employment stability in this field is largely dependent on general economic conditions, and job prospects will vary from industry to industry and firm to firm. The pandemic interrupted trade flows around the world in 2020 but global merchandise trade has slowly recovered. The U.S. Department of Labor predicts slower than average employment growth for wholesale and manufacturing sales representatives through 2033. Cargo and freight agents, however, are expected to have much faster than average job growth and buyers and purchasing agents will also have have strong job growth in the coming years.
