Some engineers may be members of the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers and other unions. Fuel cell engineers have access to education, training, conferences, and career-support resources through professional associations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Association of Energy Engineers, Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Energy Association, and SAE International. Other organizations and agencies that engineers find useful include the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies, National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
