Industrial machinery mechanics may be members of unions that include the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement Workers of America; United Steelworkers of America; United Auto Workers; the International Union of Electronic, Electrical, Salaried, Machine, and Furniture Workers; United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America; and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Professional associations, such as the National Tooling and Machining Association and the Precision Machined Products Association, also provide resources, training opportunities, and industry news to their members. The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals offers membership, certification, and other resources.
