Law Librarians

Unions and Associations

Some law librarians are members of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, but most do not belong to unions. The American Association of Law Libraries is a membership organization for law librarians that publishes journals, salary surveys, and career information for aspiring librarians. It also offers continuing education opportunities, a Leadership Academy, and a Mentorship Program. Other major professional associations for law librarians include the Special Libraries Association and the American Library Association.
