High School
Take business management, accounting, mathematics, computer science, data science, and finance courses in high school to better understand these topics and to prepare for college. Learn as much as you can about space exploration and science by taking science courses and getting involved in hands-on activities. Space port managers must be able to give presentations, write reports, and communicate effectively with colleagues, the media, elected officials, and executives. To build your communication skills, take English, speech, writing, and foreign language classes.
Postsecondary Education
Space port managers have a wide range of educational backgrounds, but many have bachelor’s degrees in business management, project management, engineering or other technical fields, or aerospace/aviation management.
Certification
Certificate programs in business management, aerospace management, project management, operations management, and related fields are offered by colleges and universities and other providers. Contact schools in your area for information about available programs.
