Space Port Managers

Unions and Associations

Space port managers do not belong to unions. The Federal Aviation Administration’s Office of Spaceports is “responsible for development of policies that promote infrastructure improvements and strengthen the competitiveness of U.S. spaceports, supporting launch and reentry site licensing activities, providing technical assistance and guidance to existing and proposed new spaceports, and the domestic and global promotion of U.S. spaceports.” The Global Spaceport Alliance provides membership to spaceport industry professionals—operators, suppliers, and government and academic entities involved in the commercial space sector. It offers webinars and publications and hosts an annual conference. Organizations also exist at the state and local levels. One example is the Arizona Spaceport Alliance.
