Artificial Intelligence Specialists

Employment Prospects

Employers

Many AI specialists are employed by IT companies, but there are increasing opportunities in other sectors that currently use AI technology or are currently introducing this technology into their operations. The following sectors also employ AI specialists: banking, transportation, astronomy, shipping, accounting, health care, agriculture, nonprofits, security, and human resources. Artificial intelligence specialists also work in the U.S. military. The Department of Labor (DOL) does not provide data on artificial intelligence specialists, but information can be drawn from the computer and information research scientists profession. According to the DOL, in May 2023, there were about 35,210 computer and information research scientists working in the United States.
