Unions and Associations

Most endocrinologists do not belong to unions, but some may be represented by the Doctors Council SEIU and the Union of American Physicians and Dentists. Professional associations that provide useful resources (publications, continuing education, networking opportunities, etc.) include the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons; American College of Endocrinology; Association of Program Directors in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism; Endocrine Society; Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility; and Women in Endocrinology. Membership in these organizations reflects well on an endocrinologist's standing within the professional and patient communities. The American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists provide certification to endocrinologists.
