Agile Coaches or Trainers

Outlook

The Agile coaching market has been rapidly growing due to the widespread use of Agile. According to LinkedIn's "Most Promising Jobs" summary, Agile coach was ranked 10th, with 104 percent year-over-year job opening growth and a base compensation of approximately $100,000. This highly-paid, professional role requires a strong balance of project management and leadership skills. Agile coaches guide, assist, and support organizations adopting Agile methodologies in project teams and product development programs. As a result, the future of agile coaching seems promising. The demand for agile coaches is expected to increase by 9% between 2018 and 2028.

Writing for the Project Management Institute's blog in April 2023, Curtis Hibbs provided an optimistic outlook for Agile in the years ahead, explaining that the approach was having a major impact on enterprises and the value they provide. "The world, since agile was first developed, has become a much more dangerous place: more global, faster-paced, and increasingly reliant on digital technologies that have radically lowered the barriers to competitive challenges," he explained. "Becoming more agile is no longer a 'nice-to-do;' it’s become a business imperative."

Agile software development strategies will continue to be used by software companies that are seeking to improve their development processes and gain a competitive edge. Additionally, a variety of businesses outside the software realm now use Agile frameworks. As a result, there will be strong demand for experienced Agile coaches with knowledge and expertise in a variety of Agile frameworks. Coaches who are certified and who have experience working with or for large companies will have the best job prospects.
