The U.S. Department of Labor reports that the median hourly earnings for computer, automated teller, and office machine technicians were $22.00 (or $45,760 annually) in May 2023. The department also reports that the lowest paid 10 percent of all computer and office machine service technicians earned less than $16.07 per hour ($33,430 annually). At the other end of the pay scale, 10 percent earned more than $31.64 per hour (approximately $65,820 annually). Fifty percent of technicians earned between $17.89 and $28.00 and hour (or $37,210 and $58,240 annually). Technicians who worked for professional and commercial equipment and supplies merchant wholesalers earned mean annual salaries of $51,090. Those who are certified are typically paid more than those without certification.

Standard work benefits for full-time technicians include health and life insurance and paid vacation and sick time, as well as a retirement plan. Most technicians are given travel stipends; some receive company cars.
