Environmental Education Program Directors

Environmental education program directors are not typically represented by unions, although those who also work as public school teachers might be represented by the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. The American Association of University Professors' purpose is to "advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education's contribution to the common good." Program directors can also access valuable resources from the following organizations: Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors; Centers for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence; National Marine Educators Association; and the North American Association for Environmental Education.
