Hematologists

Unions and Associations

Most hematologists do not belong to unions, but some may be represented by the Doctors Council SEIU and the Union of American Physicians and Dentists. The American Society of Hematology is a membership organization with more than 18,000 members (both clinicians and scientists) in nearly 100 countries. It offers a Hematology-Focused Fellowship Training Program and a variety of continuing education opportunities. The society also publishes Blood, Blood Advances, Blood Neoplasia, The Hematologist, and other resources. In addition, industry associations such as the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, Association of American Medical Colleges, and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine offer hematologists professional support, education and certification programs, and other useful resources.
