Model View Controller Developers

Employment Prospects

Employers

Model view controller developers are employed by software development firms, large tech companies, and any other company, organization, or agency that uses MVC frameworks in its work. Some MVC developers open their own consulting or software development firms. Approximately 18.5 percent of software developers are self-employed, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. This percentage is much higher than the average for workers in all occupations. Another career path is to become a computer science teacher at a high school or college.

Starting Out

People can enter the field directly after earning a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field. Others first work for several years as software developers or Web developers before building their knowledge of MVCs.

Job leads can be obtained by attending career fairs and networking events, creating a profile on LinkedIn to attract the interest of recruiters, utilizing the resources of one’s college career service center, visiting tech job sites such as Dice.com, and visiting the career Web sites of target employers. It’s important to note that many job listings don’t feature the job title “model view controller designer.” Instead, many ads are for general developers, but list knowledge of MVCs as a key skill.
