Pedorthists

Earnings

Salaries depend on job duties, level of experience, and the type of facility and its geographic location, among other factors. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that in May 2018 the annual median salary for medical appliance technicians, which included pedorthists, was $39,190. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $24,090 and the top 10 percent earned more than $63,130.

Pedorthists working in shoe stores and clinics usually receive paid sick days, holidays, vacation days, and some level of health insurance. Retirement savings plans are usually offered as well. Most hospitals provide health insurance and other benefits, but usually don't offer as many days off. However, some hospitals offer discounted or free medical services to their employees.
