Physicians have among the highest average earnings of any occupational group. Individual physician's salaries vary depending upon specialty, skill, years of experience, professional reputation, as well as the region of the country where they practice. In March 2020, physiatrists employed in the United States earned a median salary of $234,709, according to Salary.com. The lowest paid 10 percent earned  $192,032 and the top 10 percent earned $286,458 or more. The Department of Labor reported that physicians and surgeons in general were employed in May 2019 earned about $206,500 per year; the lowest 10 percent earned about $60,910 per year.
