Salaries for special procedures technologists vary by type of procedure, geographic location, type of employer, and experience level.

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that radiologic technologists, a specialized type of special procedures technologist, made a median annual salary of $60,510 in May 2019. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $41,480, and the highest paid 10 percent made more than $89,760 a year. Magnetic resonance imaging technologists earned median annual salaries of $73,410. Salaries ranged from less than $51,150 to $101,580 or more. Cardiovascular technologists and technicians earned median annual salaries of $57,720. Ten percent earned less than $29,710, while the most experienced workers earned $94,370 or more. Salaries for sonographers ranged from less than $52,770 to $102,060, while earnings for nuclear medicine technologists ranged from $56,560 to $105,690.
