Enterprise Architects

Outlook

There will continue to be strong demand for enterprise architects in the next decade because of the massive amounts of data being generated and the growing complexity of the technology needed to conduct business or meet other organizational goals. According to the Department of Labor, computer network architects, who share some job tasks similar to those of enterprise architects, will have 13 percent job growth through 2033. This is much faster than average growth compared to other occupations. Enterprise architects have proven records of helping organizations reduce costs, save time, and meet short- and long-term goals, so these professionals will always be in demand. Enterprise architects with considerable experience at well-known employers, substantial track records of success, and knowledge of artificial intelligence (which will increasingly be used to automate some enterprise architecture processes) will have the best job prospects. The data intelligence firm Gartner estimates that by 2028, 75 percent of enterprise software engineers will use artificial intelligence code assistants.
