Holistic Physicians

Work Environment

Holistic physicians generally work indoors in private offices or clinics. Depending on the size of the office, they may have support and assistance from a small or large staff of nurses and administrative workers. Those who work in a group practice or health care organization are part of a team that coordinates health care for patients. Solo practitioners have more independence and are responsible for all aspects of the business, from tending to patients to managing the finances.

Holistic physicians often work long, irregular hours. Holistic physicians may travel between their office and hospitals to visit patients. The work can be stressful at times, particularly when dealing with emergency phone calls and visits.
