Certification or Licensing
IBM offers the certified quantum computational scientist credential to applicants who “possesses a fundamental knowledge of quantum computing concepts and [are] able to demonstrate this using the Qiskit SDK as well as Qiskit Runtime . . . have experience using the Qiskit SDK from the Python programming language to create and execute quantum computing programs on IBM Quantum computers.” Visit https://www.ibm.com/training for more information. Other tech companies such as Microsoft are developing certification credentials. No licensing is required for QC specialists.
Other Requirements
QC specialists who are employed by government agencies and work on top secret quantum projects may be required to undergo background checks and receive security clearances.
