Avionics Technicians

Outlook

Employment for avionics technicians is expected to grow about as fast as the average for all professions from 2022 through 2032, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Avionics is an important and constantly developing field and reliance on electronics technology has grown rapidly and in virtually every industry. In general, avionics technicians who are certified will have better employment prospects than those who do not have certification. Those with a bachelor's degree and familiarity with cutting-edge avionics and and other aerospace technology will also have better chances of securing work and advancing in the field.

The economic health of the aerospace and airline industries is tied to government spending and political developments, as well as to the overall economy. Employment opportunities will be best when the economy is strong and government and private sector funding is available.
