The median salary for cardiovascular technologists and technicians was $56,850 in May 2018, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $29,340 and the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $93,100 annually. Earnings can vary by size and type of employer. For example, technologists working in doctors' offices made more than the mean annual salary ($60,600) while those in hospitals had a lower mean annual salary ($58,130). Those with formal training earn more than those who trained on the job, and those who are able to perform more sophisticated tests, such as Holter monitoring and stress testing, are paid more than those who perform only the basic electrocardiograph tests.
